No overseas head office, no anonymous freelancer pool — a small, Oslo-based team that vets its translators, prices its work up front, and tells you what happens to your document once you send it.
Who we are
KM Translation is a translation agency based in Oslo, working between Norwegian and English — plus a defined set of additional language pairs — for private individuals with a single document and businesses with recurring or specialist work.
We sell nine of our ten disciplines at a published, fixed price for standard-sized jobs. You see the number before you commit to anything. The tenth — work that's genuinely non-standard, unusually large, or ongoing — gets a scoped quote instead of a guess.
We're not the biggest agency in Oslo, and that's not the pitch. We publish our price, our process and our policies, and let those do the persuading.
How we choose who works on your document
Every translator in our network works into their own native language — never out of it. Beyond that, we look for documented experience in the relevant subject: a legal translator who has actually worked with contracts, a medical translator who has actually worked with clinical text. Before anyone takes on live work, they complete a test translation that we review ourselves.
Every translator and reviser signs a confidentiality undertaking before they see a single document, whether it's a birth certificate or a set of board minutes.

What happens to your document
Your files are handled under GDPR from the moment they reach us. If you need a formal mutual NDA before sending anything sensitive — a contract under negotiation, medical records, financial statements — we'll sign one on request, at no extra cost.
Once your job is delivered, we keep the source files for 90 days in case you need a follow-up or a correction, then delete them. Want us to keep them longer, or delete them sooner? Tell us and we will.
