Certified translation is for one thing: getting a document accepted by whoever is asking for it — UDI, a university admissions office, a court, a bank, an employer. It isn't written for a general reader; it's prepared and attested so the receiving institution has no procedural reason to turn it down.
Most people ordering this don't do it often, and don't know exactly what 'certified' requires, or what notarisation and apostille add on top of it. We keep that part simple: the translation is prepared and attested by an authorised translator from our vetted network, and the paperwork add-ons are priced and selectable at checkout, not a mystery follow-up quote.

Certified work takes longer because the attesting translator's signature is the bottleneck, not the translation itself — each attestation is done by hand, by one of a limited number of authorised translators.

Will this actually be accepted by the institution asking for it?
Our attestation confirms the translation is complete and accurate, prepared by an authorised translator from our vetted network — what most Norwegian and international institutions ask for. Requirements vary by institution, so check any specific checklist you've been given, or ask us before ordering and we'll tell you plainly if something doesn't match.
What's the difference between certified, notarised and apostilled?
Certified/attested means a qualified translator confirms in writing that the translation is complete and accurate. Notarisation adds a notary's confirmation of the translator's signature. An apostille is a further layer of authentication for documents crossing certain borders. Most UDI and university submissions need certified only.
Can I get a physical, signed copy posted to me?
Yes — add the extra certified hard copy option at checkout and give us a delivery address. Digital PDF delivery is included as standard either way.
My document is a bit unusual — can you still price it?
If it's more than a few pages or an unusual format, use the quote request instead of the buy block — we'll scope it and reply within 2 working hours.
